By accessing or using Litrevu ("Service"), operated by Litrevu Pty Ltd, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.
Litrevu provides AI-powered research report generation services. Our Service allows users to upload reference papers and generate academic reports through an interactive chat-based interface.
You agree to:
Litrevu is a research writing assistant that generates draft content to help you organise and synthesise your uploaded sources. It is not a substitute for your own original thinking, analysis, or writing.
By using Litrevu, you acknowledge and agree that:
You assume full responsibility for how you use any content generated through the Service.
Our Service operates on a pay-as-you-go model. Users purchase credits that are consumed when generating reports. All purchases are subject to our Refund Policy.
The Service and its original content (excluding content provided by users) remain the property of Litrevu Pty Ltd.
Your content: You retain all rights to the reference papers you upload and to the generated reports you create through the Service. By uploading reference papers, you grant Litrevu a limited, non-exclusive licence to process, analyse, and store those papers solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. You represent and warrant that you have the necessary rights or permissions to upload and use the reference papers for research purposes.
Generated content: You own the output generated through your use of the Service. However, due to the nature of AI-generated content, Litrevu does not guarantee that generated content is unique or that substantially similar content has not been or will not be generated for other users.
We reserve the right to limit or suspend access for users who engage in excessive or abusive use of the Service that negatively impacts other users.
Your use of our Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which complies with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
Without limiting the foregoing, Litrevu does not warrant that:
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Litrevu Pty Ltd, its directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to:
In no event shall Litrevu's total liability to you for all claims arising from or relating to the Service exceed the total amount paid by you to Litrevu in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Litrevu Pty Ltd, its directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your submission of generated content to any institution, publisher, or third party; (d) any allegation that your use of the Service or generated content violates any third-party rights or any applicable academic integrity policy; or (e) your failure to review, revise, or verify generated content before use.
You must be at least 18 years of age, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you may only use the Service with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend accounts for violations of these terms, including but not limited to fraudulent activity or misuse of the Service. See our Chargeback Policy for information about payment disputes.
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the Service.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, if you are a consumer in the European Union, United Kingdom, or any other jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection laws, nothing in these Terms shall affect your rights under those mandatory laws that cannot be waived by contract.
Any disputes arising from these Terms shall first be addressed through good faith negotiations. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Johannesburg, South Africa, conducted in English.
If you are an EU consumer, you may also refer disputes to the online dispute resolution platform provided by the European Commission at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Nothing in this clause limits your right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence if permitted by applicable mandatory law.
